8/30/2023 0 Comments Raspberry pi vlc player![]() ![]() Please let me know what things I should correct. I need to make sure the script starts on startup without me having to login the cli.Īlso, how do I place a 2x2 or 4x4 camera grid using the rtsp streams with vlc? Is the script you showed me going to cycle the cameras or is it going to put them side by side on a grid? I tried placing the script path into /etc/rc.local but it does not work. VAinfo should tell you whether hardware decoding is available and since all packages are available for armel, hardware acceleration should work from the technical side. As far as I understand, VLC (> 1.1) uses the VAAPI to decode video, if it is available. How do I make it work so the camera stream auto starts on reboot? Yes, VLC can be installed on the recommended Debian image using sudo apt-get install vlc. Am i doing something wrong?Īlso I tried placing the script to auto start but there is no autostart file and no /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart folders in my lite version of respberry pi. But directly on the pi with a monitor it is just a black screen. Also when I am sshed into the pi from my regular windows desktop, and run the vlc command, it sort of tries to play the stream, by using the ssh client various simbols as pixels and sort of plays a video stream using them, not pixels. Perhaps the OP is trying to play videos using codecs which are not supported by the GPU (like H265, for example, he is using a RPi 3). Is this something related to the graphics or something? I am using a 4GB Raspberry 4B with a Bulls Eye lite os without any desktop environment. ![]() It seems like it is logging into the stream and is trying to show it on the screen, but it is just a blank screen. I tried installing vlc player and running the command cvlc with the rtsp stream of my camera, but I got a black screen. ![]()
